Finally the wait is over!!!

I have finally moved to the beautiful state of Wisconsin! Does this me that I am a Cheese Head now? The Lord allowed Joseph and Pastor Morrow to travel to my city on Monday July 11th. We left my house Tuesday July 12th around 7 a.m. We travel through the upper peninsula. A total of 11 hrs one way! The drive was long, but it was very pretty and enjoyable. I will post picture once I figure out how to! HaHa I live next to Bader's Sporting Goods. I believe it to be the only store in the city. I have a wonderful roommate named Jessica. She is sweet and bubbly. I am really enjoying my new city so far. I love that the church and Joseph's house are only one block away from my house. I am looking forward to the rest of my days here, however I will have to get used to not having a Dunkin Donuts near by !!! I am excited to see what else the Lord has in store for me!

Independence Day!

Independence Day, commonly known as the Fourth of July is a federal holiday in the United States commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, declaring independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain. Independence Day is commonly associated with fireworks, parades, barbecues, baseball games, and family reunions. But my question is where is the freedom that our country once had; the freedom that men died for. We broke away for the Catholic Church in England and came to a "New World", however, our rights are being taken away from us day in an day out! We will not be blessed until we as Christian's turn back to the God that our founding fathers served. They had the fear of the Lord in their hearts! People in our nation will not be blessed by God because they do not bless God.~Pastor Matt McPhillips

II Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Oh if that was our prayer today! Man, I read this verse and look at my life, how am I doing as a child of God? Am I humbling myself, praying and seeking the Lord's face. This is my prayer today as we think and celebrate 4th of July.

Ok... so as you all know my name is Matte. I am 20yrs old, and currently living in Port Huron, Mi. In 10 days I will be moving to the beautiful state of Wisconsin, or otherwise known as the "Chesse State". God has blessed me greatly not only by Salvation but by giving me a wonderful future husband, Joseph Gehring. I am moving to Wisconsin to help in a Christian school. I am oh so excited about it. Yes, I was a bit nervious, but the Lord calmed my nerves and gave me peace. I have never blogged before so this should be intresting. I want to keep in contact with my family and friends and also include them ever step of the way. So... I hope you enjoy reading about my New Life as I begin a new chapter in my life!!
